‘Senile’ Trump sparks major health concerns with latest rant – ‘Remove from office!’ | World | News

US President Donald Trump has launched a new attack on Pope Leo XIV and NATO.

In a quote posted on social media earlier this week, Mr. Trump previously claimed the Pope was “weak on crime and terrible on foreign policy.” In his message, the US President also said, “I don’t want a Pope who thinks it’s okay for Iran to have nuclear weapons.”

Mr. Trump later refused to apologize to the Pope and implored Pope Louis XIV. He said again that Leo was “very weak on crime and other issues” and added that he had “nothing to apologize for”. [the Pope] Wrong”. Then last night Mr Trump wrote on Truth Social: “Can someone please tell Pope Leo that Iran has killed at least 42,000 innocent, completely unarmed protesters in the last two months and that it is completely unacceptable for Iran to have a Nuke? Thank you for your interest in this topic. AMERICA IS BACK!!! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

The comments came after the Pope, speaking during an evening peace vigil at St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City on Saturday, made a direct appeal to world leaders to return to negotiations.

Leading the service he said: “Enough of the idolatry of self and money! Enough of the display of power! Enough of war! True strength is shown in serving life.”

To Mr Trump’s anger, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni commented on the verbal spat between Mr Trump and Pope Leo XIV, saying: “I find President Trump’s words about the Holy Father unacceptable. The Pope is the head of the Catholic Church and it is right and normal for him to call for peace and condemn all forms of war.”

American commentator Harry Sissing said of X: “It’s midnight and Trump is ranting about Pope Leo again. Someone put him to bed, senile.”

Mr. Trump also directed his ire at NATO, which has refused to join offensive strikes against Iran. In a separate Truth Social post, he wrote: “NATO was not on our side and will not be on our side in the future!”

He also previously described his rejection of the defense alliance as “shameful” and again criticized British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer for his reaction.
