West Coast Pro will be one of the promotions hosting a show where many wrestlers on its roster participate in multiple matches for other companies.
West Coast Pro owner Scott Bregante told Fox News Digital against a backdrop of independent shows that the promotion offers fans a chance to see the sport in its purest form.
“I think what sets West Coast Pro apart is that we have an identity where we’re proud to be from the Bay Area. We still pride ourselves on showcasing professional wrestling for what it is, not what it could be,” he explained. “I think a lot of people want to come in and reinvent the wheel. I think wrestling is beautiful in its purest form, and that’s telling stories, shining a light on up-and-comers, getting people emotionally involved, just the basics.”
“I think we’re starting out a long way from that now as an industry where you have to have an influencer or someone famous associated with it. For us, we’ve never really folded on that. We’ve always had really good wrestling. We’ve got really good stories. Our crowd is incredible. The vibe is there. Everything that would make any company great, we leaned into that and never lost what makes us, who we are.”
Bregante said some of the industry’s top stars, including WWE’s Royce Keyes and Jacob Fatu, come through West Coast Pro, while others are based in All Elite Wrestling, Total Nonstop Action and Japan.
“We have people all over the place who come from the West Coast, Pro or have a footprint here,” he continued. “And I think that stands the test of time… And I think that’s what makes us who we are. And I think that’s what puts us a step above the rest. We’re just pro wrestling, you know? We’re not sports entertainment, we’re not influencers, we’re not anything like that. We’re pro wrestling at our core.”
One of West Coast Pro’s rising stars is the company’s women’s world champion, Johnnie Robbie.

Robbie is a Los Angeles native who leans on his Latin American background and brings his own flavor to the ring, and it’s made a huge impact on professional wrestling fans.
Bregante told Fox News Digital that Robbie’s ability to connect with fans has made him incredibly popular. Add to that his skills in the ring and the industry has a rising star to contend with.
“He’s incredibly relatable, but people see him as someone to look up to, not so much as an equal,” he said of Robbie. “I think that’s a lot of things that are lost in pro wrestling, where a lot of wrestlers resonate with fans as fans and Johnny Robbie is a step above.”
Bregante said Robbie’s career was nearly over due to a serious neck injury, but his ability to recover was able to maintain his momentum with the fans and go on to have banger after banger. Bregante said this part of Robbie’s journey makes it even more special.

“I think that’s a very, very important part of why people forget, you know, if you hear who Johnnie Robbie is now, but you hear everybody who’s been around for a while saying, ‘Yeah, man, Johnnie Robbie,’ those are very important details of a journey with someone and his in-ring work speaks for itself,” he said. “He’s one of the most sought-after wrestlers, male or female. A lot of people say: ‘Oh, the best unsigned talent’, I don’t look at it that way. I think Johnnie Robbie would be in the top 20 in the world if you put him pound for pound.”

“You can’t go and say, ‘Hey man, I watched the Johnnie Robbie match. Everything was fine.’ 99.9% of the time when you watch a Johnnie Robbie match you think, ‘Okay, I think this woman is redefining what women’s wrestling can be.’ And when I look at her and say that’s what it should be. There’s a reason why I’m main eventing her in front of everybody. And it’s not because of her gender or anything like that. Because she’s got the passion, she’s got the look. That’s what it takes to main event any show that comes out of West Coast Pro.” He has the effort, the skill and the overall entertainment value and there is a standard for the West Coast pro and it should be enough for him to be at the top of that standard.”
