Parents And Children Join Bike Rally To Promote Helmet Use

-Warangal: Mahabubabad district police on Wednesday organized a bike rally involving parents and children to promote the use of helmets under the ‘Come Alive’ initiative.
The rally, led by Superintendent of Police P. Shabarish, started at the Town Police Station and passed through the main streets of the town. It focused on creating awareness among parents and school-going children about the importance of wearing helmets, especially for pillion riders.
Parents, teachers and children also attended the rally, carrying banners with road safety messages. SP Shabarish, who was at the event with his child, said that it is the responsibility of parents to ensure the safety of children during travel.
Addressing the participants, he warned that helmets should not be neglected even on short distance trips. “Accidents are unpredictable and a helmet is the primary life-saving tool for both adults and children,” he said, adding that helmets must be appropriately sized and securely fastened.
Police also advised citizens to obey speed limits, avoid triple driving and obey traffic rules. The ministry said children can play a role in reminding parents to wear helmets and contribute to safer road practices.
