Presenter Lewis Nicholls has revealed he was sexually assaulted by two men in their fifties 12 years ago.
After years of trying to hide her shame, the 32-year-old bravely spoke out about the heartbreaking ordeal in an Instagram video posted on Wednesday night.
Lewis, who did not report the attack to police at the time, said he now feels confident to share his story after going through therapy.
The presenter, who hosts The Lewis Nicholl Show on YouTube and conducts in-depth interviews with reality stars, actors and public figures, said: ‘Hi everyone, this is the most nervous I’ve ever been making a video but it’s something I’ve been waiting a very long time to do and explain something that happened to me.
’12 years ago I was sexually assaulted by two men in their fifties. This was the worst thing that ever happened to me. I did not go to the police at that time. I acted like nothing happened.
‘I was given a drink. It was obvious that there was something in that drink. Then I woke up – I don’t want to go into detail – but of course you can put two and two together.

‘As soon as this happened I managed to get out of where I was and wanted to act like nothing had happened. I went home, put my clothes in the trash can and just wanted to forget about it.
‘I even went to work the next day. For a long time I could almost forget it was happening. It’s funny, I put up this blog because I felt so ashamed. I was ashamed, I felt weak. As a man, it was a strange feeling and I put it to the back of my mind. I like to almost lock him in a box and after about two years of that it really got to me.’
Lewis said the trauma forced him to struggle with intimacy, relationships and even the need to keep the light on.
He continued: ‘I had locked him in a box and pretended it hadn’t happened. Then I realized how much it shaped my life.
‘I reached out to the NHS a few years ago and they offered some really good sessions for male rape survivors. Everything changed after that.’
The presenter said this gave him the strength to tell his family, friends and colleagues about what happened.
She added that after seeing others share their stories, she now feels encouraged to speak out publicly.
He concluded: ‘I’m not afraid, I feel strong and I’m proud of myself. I got help. ‘This does not define my life’.
