The Black history of One Nation

Pauline Hanson’s One Nation party has thrown a “warm protective blanket” over violent convicted rapist, wife beater and purveyor of chaos Sean Black. Investigations editor Ross Jones reports.
Accordingly Australian:
‘Quarterly analysis of News polls published between 12 January and 26 March reveals increasing support for One Nation across all demographic groups.’
The Canberra bubble’s assumption of what the stereotypical One Nation voter is like is blown out of the water. For example, more women support One Nation than men.
If this is true, it’s probably because the women surveyed had never heard of Sean Black and were unaware of the warm protective blanket Pauline Hanson’s One Nation provided to this violent, criminal rapist, wife-beater and purveyor of chaos.
Until very recently, Black was the campaign director of PHON, one of the party’s closest circles.
Sky News On April 13, 2026 reported:
‘Pauline Hanson says One Nation has sacked a convicted rapist who worked as its campaign manager but accuses Coalition MPs of playing “bullshit politics” by criticizing the decision to rehire him.’
All we have is Hanson’s word that Black was fired, and he has a way with words.
According to Sky:
‘Speaking to Sky News on Sunday evening, Ms Hanson said she had “shot the man in question in front of his wife while their two children were in the other room” earlier that day.’
That’s one way to deal with staff.
Pauline’s not happy On Black’s dismissal:
“This is despicable policy… and I’m sickened by what happened,” Hanson said.
“[Black] He paid the penalty for the crime he was convicted of and now he was trying to move on with his life…”
What happens now? What’s happening? Are you going to put it in the junkyard? Or should we impose the death penalty on everyone who commits a crime?
Accordingly the Sydney Morning Herald:
‘One Nation MP Barnaby Joyce said the convicted rapist who was kicked out of the minor party’s headquarters on Sunday was the victim of a political smear campaign because he had already served his sentence.’
Before he was convicted of rape and violent assault against his first wife, Black had led a “colourful” career. accordingly the Sydney Morning Herald accusations:
‘…someone who was bullied and threw uncontrollable tantrums during his years as a Queensland local councilor, tried to form an Australian version of the US Tea Party spin-off group, and was thrown out of a restaurant after throwing a coaster at a man wearing a T-shirt insulting Tony Abbott.’
During his years as a real estate agent, Mr Black was also accused of soliciting rent and was singled out by the former Minister of Works and Housing in the Queensland Parliament. Robert Schwarten For engaging in “non-Australian” activity.
Four PHON senators were elected in July 2016 – they did not go bankrupt Rodney Culleton Pauline Hanson in WA and Malcolm Roberts in Queensland and Brian Burston In NSW.
As of October 2016, Black was hired as an employee of Roberts.
Brian Burston, who as a new Senator was closely involved in PHON’s work at that time, said: IA.:
“Black is a close friend of James Ashby, and it was Ashby who hired him. It was his decision. Pauline will do whatever Ashby says. She checks on him, even answers his phone.”
Minister at that time Schwarten reportedly said. Of Black’s first assignment as a One Nation staffer, he told Senator Roberts:
“He’s destroyed every organization he’s touched. It’s hard to believe that anyone could discredit One Nation, but believe me, he’ll do it. Having him there will prove they’ll convert to his cause.”
Black on May 24, 2017 was accused by Queensland Police on rape and six counts of assault.
‘Black’s arrest ‘It was widely reported, but the rape charge, which was confirmed to Guardian Australia by Queensland police at the time, could not be made public for legal reasons.’
It is unclear whether Black was able to explain the nature of his accusations to Roberts, but Roberts kept him in office until he was expelled from the Senate in the massive s44 fiasco in October 2017.
In July 2018, ABC reported:
Former One Nation adviser Sean Black has been sentenced to five years in prison for raping his ex-wife.
In sentencing, Judge Glen Cash said it was clear Black was willing to use violence to control his relationship.
The ABC report also detailed the nature of the violence:
Black at the beginning of this month He was found guilty of raping his ex-wife In 2007, while Tanya was in the bathroom, he pushed her down the stairs and trapped her hand in the door.
The judge said Black pulled her out of the shower by her hair and raped her.
“That night… you told her it wasn’t rape because she was your wife,” he said.
The trial judge noted Black showed no remorse for his crimes:
“Ex-wife of former One Nation adviser says trial for rape ‘re-traumatised’ her.”
Black’s ex-wife Tanya was subjected to further torture at his trial because:
Black did not take the stand, but Tanya was questioned for more than 12 hours.
His vindication by the jury followed years of threats from a man who claimed he was protected by powerful connections from a career that took him from state Labor to Logan City Council, the LNP and the office of One Nation senator Malcolm Roberts in Canberra.
He was concerned about his ex-partner’s increasing aggressive behavior.
“The threat was always: If this goes to court, I will kill you,” he said. “This was a very real threat to me.”
Even after the pair split, Tanya took Black’s threats of further harm seriously and lived in fear, telling ABC:
“…she did not go to the police until nine years after the attacks, saying it was a last resort at the insistence of a social worker.”
Black spent two years and three months in prison, came out and marched in October 2020. straight back to his old job:
‘Sean Black in 2018 was imprisoned for rape And later lost appeal against conviction, initially Rehired by One Nation in 2020 ‘As campaign manager after serving his sentence.’
By the time Black was rehired, details of the domestic violence had been public for some time and were well known to the party’s upper echelons.
One Australian woman killed in 2023-2024, government figures show every eight days by intimate partner violence.
One in four Australian women experience intimate partner violence. In 2023-2024, nine out of ten Women were among those hospitalized as a result of intimate partner violence.
Pauline Hanson’s One Nation doesn’t care about the thousands of Australian women living in constant fear, or worse.
He doesn’t care about the thousands of traumatized children who witnessed their mothers being beaten by a coward.
All he does is bleat about cries that Black is an “empty policy”.
The principle that ex-offenders deserve the chance of readmission to civil life after serving their sentences is sound and necessary; We can all make mistakes.
However, men who beat women in front of their children do not fall into this category.
