Head constable survives bullet injury to chest after rifle misfire in Kakinada

Head constable Lanke Dhana Raju, 52, survived after a bullet pierced his chest, reportedly due to the rifle misfiring while he was cleaning the rifle at the EVM depot next to the Collectorate in Kakinada. The incident occurred around 07.30 in the morning.

Kakinada Police Chief G. Bindhu Madhav, in his press release; “Mr. Dhana Raju survived suffering a serious injury to the left side of his chest after his .303 rifle failed to fire while cleaning.”
