RTC Strike Enters Second Day Amid Protests And Arrests

-Warangal: The statewide strike by Road Transport Corporation (RTC) workers entered its second day on Thursday; Employees continued their protests amid heavy police deployment at bus depots in erstwhile Warangal district.
While the government tried to maintain operations by assigning a police officer to each bus, workers also gathered at warehouses early to prevent vehicles from separating. Public transport services have been severely affected, forcing commuters to rely on private operators.
In Jangaon district, police inspected the work of removing buses from storage and made arrests during the protest. Union members said the agitation will continue until their demands are met.
Police were deployed at Thorrur warehouse in Mahabubabad district and a case was registered against 21 employees for not turning up for work. When they arrived at the warehouses, many people were detained.
RTC labor union leaders demanded the release of the detained employees and opposed police intervention. The disruption in services has left passengers dependent on private transportation as the shortage continues.
