Spirit Airlines Nears Bankruptcy Bailout From Trump Administration

The Trump administration is working on a rescue deal to help struggling Spirit Airlines as airlines increase flight costs and fares ahead of the summer travel season. Although not yet finalized, a source familiar with the matter told NBC News that the deal would provide $500 million to help the budget airline emerge from bankruptcy and cope with rising fuel costs.
