Premier League Darts 2026: Luke Littler beats Jonny Clayton to win in Liverpool

Luke Littler strengthened his Premier League play-off dominance by overcoming Liverpool’s chorus of boos with an impressive 6-1 win over Jonny Clayton.
Littler, a 19-year-old Manchester United fan, was booed throughout the night on Merseyside but kept his cool to earn his fourth night-time win in Week 12.
The world champion defeated Luke Humphries 6-2 in the quarter-finals but was pushed to his limits by Michael van Gerwen in the last four.
Clayton, who is in the top four places in the Premier League standings and heading into the final night, is the leader in the general classification, three points ahead of second-placed Littler, who is 15 points ahead of fifth-placed Gian van Veen.
Clayton and Littler are ahead of the pack with four league stage nights ahead of the final night at London’s O2 Arena on May 28.
Comparing the reception he received in Rotterdam last Thursday to the reception he received in Liverpool, Littler said: “Rotterdam were a lot louder than that tonight.
“There was some [of booing] but this week was nothing compared to last week.
“I’ve got to forget about that. I was definitely focused and wanted to win tonight and that’s what I did.”
Littler has been top of the table for the last two years and is determined to do it again: “I’m very close to Jonny now and I’m going to go after him.
“I want to finish on top once again and if it’s not going to happen, then it’s not going to happen, but we still have four weeks to play.”
Littler, who was booed in Rotterdam last week after his swap for Dutch number one Gian van Veen in Manchester three weeks ago, showed his resilience to secure another five points.
The 2021 Premier League champions quickly took advantage of a missed double to take a 4-0 lead over Clayton in the final.
While Clayton could only land one of his six double attempts, Littler averaged over 104 and had a 60% strikeout rate to secure the victory.
