Tamil Nadu Assembly election results 2026 LIVE: All eyes on Vijay’s TVK as DMK seeks second consecutive term

TA big decision is expected in amil Nadu as the State Assembly election results will be declared after the counting of votes on Monday, May 4, 2026. Elections for the 234-seat Parliament were held in a single phase on April 23. According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the total voter turnout was 85.1% with 4.8 crore votes.

Counting of votes at all 75,064 polling stations, including mail-in ballots, will take place starting at 8 a.m. at 62 designated counting centers across the state. Around 1.25 lakh security personnel have been deployed and QR code-based Photo ID Cards are mandatory for all officials and observers allowed entry to counting centers and halls.

It is an intense three-cornered battle in the state involving the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), its rival All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and the new entrant Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), led by actor C. Joseph Vijay. In exit polls, the majority of pollsters gave the advantage to DMK+. Interestingly, Axis My India It gave a whopping 98-120 seats to TVK as compared to 92-110 for DMK+ and 22-32 for AIADMK+.

The test will also feature the performance of Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK), led by film director Seeman, which has candidates in all 234 constituencies, providing almost 50% representation to women and a transgender person.
