Antisemitic attacks in UK and Europe prompt US Embassy travel alert

The US embassy in London on Friday warned Americans to “exercise greater caution” when visiting Jewish and American sites in the UK and Europe due to the latest increase in threats.
“The US Embassy in London notes recent attacks and threats targeting Jewish and American institutions in the UK and Europe,” the warning said. “US citizens, especially those who visit institutions that serve Jewish or American interests, should remain vigilant and exercise greater caution.”
The embassy also advised Americans to exercise caution when visiting tourist and foreign sites and places of worship, review personal safety plans and check local media for updates.
Interested citizens can also register with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Safe Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) To receive travel and safety updates.

The recommendation follows a series of antisemitic attacks in the UK and Europe, including an arson attack on four ambulances attached to a Jewish charity in London on 23 March, an attack on London’s Kenton United Synagogue on 18 April and an explosion at a Jewish school in Amsterdam in March, which authorities called a “targeted attack on the Jewish community”.
While no one was injured in the incident, the school was damaged.

According to GB News, UK authorities are investigating whether “hired thugs” backed by Iran instigated the attacks in London.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer told the Jewish Chronicle: “In relation to malicious state actors more generally, namely interdiction, we need legislation to take the necessary action and this is the legislation we will be introducing as soon as possible.”
