Wild scenes as huge crowds gather at Sydney pubs to play Anzac Day game two-up

Wild scenes broke out in pubs across Australia; Thousands of people are eager for the chance to play doubles, the only day gaming is legal in the entire country.
Large queues of eager Australians were seen on the streets of Sydney on Saturday afternoon as punters tried their hand at deuce, a traditional game reserved specifically for Anzac Day.

Two-up is a traditional gambling game that is strictly illegal throughout the country except on Anzac Day.
However, these rules vary depending on the state you live in.
In NSW, participants are only allowed to play afternoon doubles on Anzac Day, Victory in the Pacific Day on 15 August and Remembrance Day on 11 November.

Revelers were seen in groups at The Clovelly Hotel, Vic on the Park and Harbord Hotel in Sydney on Saturday.
Queues lined the streets as hundreds of eager Sydneysiders waited for their turn to play the game.
Eager punters wearing T-shirts and shorts filled the bars to watch others try the traditional game loved by the Anzacs during the First World War.
Some wore costumes and stood in the ring holding a wooden stick, better known as a “kip.”

Spectators placed money on the ground for the next spinner to try his luck in the game.
Blue skies blanketed the cities as hundreds of people flocked to the Harbord Hotel to compete in a coin toss game.

Social media posts revealed wild scenes on Saturday afternoon, with hundreds of attendees soaking up the sun and getting good vibes.
“Come in, spinner!” The guard shouted as revelers held beer bottles and cheered as attendees tossed coins into the air.
