Lindsey Vonn spotted in wheelchair after opening up on mental health battle following sickening Winter Olympics crash

A tired-looking Lindsey Vonn was spotted being pushed at the Los Angeles airport as she continues to recover from her horror crash at the Winter Olympics.

The 41-year-old US ski legend has spent the last few months recovering from multiple surgeries after suffering an accident during her bumpy final run at the Milan Cortina Games in February.

She made a miraculous comeback in Milan Cortina in February and suffered a horrific leg fracture 13 seconds into her run in the women’s downhill final on 8 February. He had already torn his cruciate ligaments before the games.

Vonn has made notable progress, even sharing a video of herself working out at the gym last month, but it looks like she’s not back on her feet yet.

The American icon was captured being helped at the airport in a wheelchair on Sunday.

The former Olympic Champion kept it casual in her all-black athletic wear ensemble and prioritized comfort during her travels.

Vonn, who appeared to have minimal makeup on, had her crutches on her lap and her wheelchair was being pushed by airport staff.

As she arrived at the gate to board her flight, she was seen resting on her lap, a $4,000 navy blue Louis Vuitton duffel bag with the fashion house’s signature white monogram print.

Vonn’s charity trip comes just days after she admitted to struggling with mental health issues following her accident.

After the first of her five surgeries, Vonn suffered from compartment syndrome, which left doctors facing a race against time to avoid having to amputate her limb.

After multiple surgeries in both Italy and the United States, the ski legend was allowed to return home to Utah on March 1, almost a month after the accident occurred.

Vonn has since provided regular updates on her progress, proving that she’s rebounding faster than fans expected. Earlier this month, he was able to walk for the first time since the accident.

But speaking to People Magazine, Vonn revealed how overwhelming the isolation was while recovering from her injuries.

‘It’s definitely been up and down,’ he said, explaining that he became depressed due to loneliness.

‘I’d say it’s definitely gotten better over the last month, but of course there have been some really bad moments too. “I hate being dependent on people, and I was 100% dependent on almost everything,” Vonn added.

‘Staying alone in hospital for two and a half weeks was quite challenging. ‘It was very difficult to remain completely still for such a long time.’

During her time to herself, the only thing Vonn had to spend time with was her phone; This led to her endlessly scrolling through social media to read what others were saying about her.

“There were a million things being said on the internet, even if people didn’t have the concept of ski racing and they were so convinced they knew what it physically required,” the 41-year-old actress told the outlet.

‘So I think it’s hard to read all of this online. Of course I tried not to read, but at the same time I had no other way of connecting with the outside world because I was so isolated.’

As Vonn was put to bed, she admitted that she had previously responded to some criticism of her effort to run down the mountain with a torn ACL.

Vonn tore her anterior cruciate ligament in Switzerland a week before the Olympics, but chose to compete anyway, in a controversial and carefully considered decision.

“I got angry sometimes and had a hard time staying away from fighting trolls on Twitter,” he joked.

‘But sometimes you have to stand up for yourself. Maybe I’ve done this a few times, but it’s very difficult.’
