Jennifer Hawkins’ and Jake Wall’s $30m Whale Beach mansion sold to mystery buyer
Whale Beach was designed and built by the clifftop mansion. Jennifer Hawkins and her builder husband, Jake WallIt settled with a mystery buyer for $30 million.
Settlement documents this month reveal that Rayner Property Holdings Pty Ltd, a shelf company, paid the full $30 million to Hawkins, a former Miss Universe, and Wall, an executive at J Group Projects.
A put and call option had previously been exercised on the title deed by financial entrepreneur Simon Tripp on behalf of the mystery buyer.
Daniel Appleby, managing director of Speed and Stracey Lawyers, is now representing the buyer. Appleby’s job description on the company’s website is described in part as handling tax issues and inheritance and succession planning for successful Australian families.
This imprint only announced in February 2022 word had leaked about a structured deal on the property totaling $30 million; part of it was for land and the rest was for housing once completed. The property was sold in April 2024 and is currently occupied.

Major plans to demolish the 1950s home were approved in April 2021 to make way for a new four-storey residence with half a basketball court at a cost of more than $3 million.
The mega mansion has at least five bedrooms and also includes a pool, spa, outdoor bar, wine room, mudroom, game room, bowling alley and home office. The wellness areas feature a sauna and cold plunge, as well as a dedicated health spa.
The $30 million sale is a suburban record, surpassing the $14.3 million paid for a five-bedroom, six-bathroom home in 2023. Senior merchant banker Mike Crivelli and his wife, susiesold the house Renato Conelianothe managing director and marketing manager of chemical supplier Redox and his wife, Catherine.
Hawkins and Wall also listed their Terrigal mansion for $6 million, the same price they paid in 2021.
The seven-bedroom, four-bathroom property sits on nine acres of lagoon-front land and overlooks Avoca Beach.
There are formal and casual living areas, wooden floors, stone kitchen, French windows and doors.
The house is being sold through Mat Steinwede and Whitney Wilson of McGrath Terrigal.
