San Antonio teacher charged with continuous sexual assault of a child

An elementary school teacher in San Antonio, Texas, was arrested and charged with repeatedly sexually assaulting a child.

Cecilia Mueller, 46, was taken into custody Monday following an investigation, authorities said in a Facebook post Tuesday.

Police said they are concerned there may be other victims and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

According to the arrest report, a 20-year-old man told authorities that Mueller was in the fifth grade at Lewis Elementary School during the 2016-17 school year.

She became one of his “favorites” throughout the year and participated in conversations about crushes and other inappropriate topics. Members of this group sometimes had lunch with him in class; There, she claimed, he showed them explicit music videos and, on one occasion, a pornographic video, and sometimes played Truth or Dare by daring the students to kiss each other.

He also said he instructed the students not to tell their parents and warned they could get in serious trouble.

The victim, whose name was not disclosed, claimed that her former teacher also kissed her and performed other sexual acts on her in her classroom locker. He said the harassment ended after the school year when he told her not to tell anyone what he had done and to contact him when she turned 18, adding that it would “destroy” him, according to the arrest report.

Mueller worked for the Northside Independent School District (NISD) and taught at Lewis Elementary School until June 2019, then transferred to Henderson Elementary School in August 2019 and has been teaching since.

He was placed on leave by NISD Employee Relations, district officials told News 4 San Antonio. District officials said they were cooperating with the investigation.
