UK drivers can get £10 off from Tesco pumps if you’re with this one bank | UK | News

British lender Barclays and supermarket Tesco have launched a joint refund offer as Britons face the highest diesel prices since the Ukraine conflict began in February 2022.

The initiative comes amid rising fuel prices driven in part by the unresolved conflict in the Middle East.

The USA and Israel have carried out joint attacks on many important regions of Iran since February 28. Iran retaliated by striking sites in the Middle East and closing the critical Strait of Hormuz trade route through which 20% of global oil is traded.

The USA and Iran agreed on a short-term ceasefire, but the closure of the strait continues. The United States also blockaded Iranian ports in the strait in an attempt to strangle Iran’s economy, force it to lift the closure, and put pressure on long-term peace negotiations.

Fuel prices remained stable for drivers across the country over the weekend. mirror reports. Figures from the motoring group found by the RAC found the national average for unleaded fuel on Monday was 157.17 pence a litre, while diesel was 189.23 pence. Both are virtually unchanged since Friday.

The average price per liter for ultra-low sulfur unleaded petrol in the UK was 156.99 pence, while the average price per liter for ultra-low sulfur diesel was 189.81 pence, according to data published by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero on 28 April.

Fuel prices at Tesco are as follows as of 28 April:

  • Average price for unleaded: 154.4p
  • Diesel average price: 187p

The Barclays-Tesco offer is limited to £10 per customer per calendar month.
