‘TMC gundagiri everywhere’: BJP candidate Bikash Sardar alleges attack on vehicle in Basanti
Serdar said that a group of approximately 200-250 people attacked his car with sticks and bamboo sticks and also targeted his driver.
Speaking to ANI, Sardar said, “TMC’s Gundagiri is happening all over the constituency. 200-250 TMC goons attacked my car with sticks and bamboo sticks. They also attacked my driver.”

In a separate incident in Chapra Assembly constituency of Nadia district, a BJP stall worker claimed that he was attacked by a group of miscreants in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The worker, identified as Mosharraf Mir, was working as a polling officer at booth number 53 under the Hatra Panchayat administration.
According to him, the attack took place around 5.30 am when an armed group of 15-20 people allegedly attacked him with iron rods and firearms.
Police officials rescued him and rushed him to Chapra Rural Hospital, where he received treatment. He received six stitches on his head.”Some TMC goons were hiding in Janiallamulla’s house…There are many cases against them. Janiallamulla is a criminal. He had a gun and two other men also had guns. They were brandishing them. Then around 15-20 more people came towards us. They had iron rods and canes in their hands. First they attacked me and shot me, which made me fall,” Mir told ANI.
“After that, they continued to hit me many times. They also attacked those who were with me. I had 6 stitches in my head. I want the police to arrest them. I want justice.”

Meanwhile, Nadia assembly constituency recorded 18.50 per cent voting percentage, while Purba Bardhaman topped with 20.86 per cent voting percentage, followed by Hooghly and North 24 Paraganas, which witnessed 20.16 per cent voting till 9 am, recording 17.81 per cent votes.
While Kolkata North and Kolkata South received 17.28 per cent and 16.81 per cent votes respectively, Howrah had 17.76 per cent voting.
The main fight in West Bengal in the 2026 elections is between the Trinamool Congress and the BJP. Earlier in the day, West Bengal LoP Suvendu Adhikari inspected the polling booths in Bhabanipur constituency. TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee cast his vote at the Mitra Institute polling booth in Bhabanipur.
The second phase covers 142 of the 294 seats in West Bengal. The total number of voters is around 3.21 crore, comprising 1,64,35,627 male, 1,57,37,418 female and 792 transgender voters.
With 142 seats up for grabs, all eyes are on the ‘Big Five’ city competition. Apart from the high-stakes seat of Bhabanipur, Tollyganj, the heart of the Bengali film industry, is a high-profile, star-studded contest.
