NFL news: Broncos’ Bo Nix reportedly underwent second procedure on ankle

Denver Broncos star quarterback Bo Nix reportedly underwent a second procedure on his ankle, which was surgically repaired last week.
Nix broke his ankle during the Broncos’ 33-30 overtime victory over the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round on Jan. 17. He had surgery in Birmingham, Ala., two days later.
According to reports, Nix’s second surgery on his ankle was performed last week by Dr. It happened when Norman Waldrop III visited. ESPN’s report.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton was asked about Nix’s progress with his injury on Saturday after Day 3 of the NFL Draft, and the coach did not disclose Nix’s second procedure.
“He had a scheduled recheck. He’s doing very well. We’re excited about his progress. Nothing to report,” Payton said.
Nix was attending rehab in the building, Payton said. Nix said earlier in the season that his ankle wouldn’t be an issue.

The former Oregon star is expected to be ready for training camp, but his participation in the offseason program may be limited, according to the report. The Broncos’ offseason schedule begins Monday.
Denver sorely missed Nix in the AFC Championship Game, along with backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham, in a 10-7 loss to the New England Patriots. The Broncos won the AFC West 14-3 last season and will look to repeat this season.

Nix will enter his third season as the Broncos’ starting quarterback. Last season, Nix completed 63.4% of his passes for 3,931 yards with 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions on seven game-winning drives to lead the NFL last season.
He also rushed for 356 yards and five touchdowns. In 34 career games, Nix has a 24-10 record as a starting quarterback.
