Power Employees Seek Retirement Age Extension To 62

: Members of the state government electricity employees forum on Wednesday submitted a presentation to special principal secretary (ministry of energy) K. Vijayanand, urging the government to increase the retirement age of electricity ministry employees from 60 to 62 at the same level as other state government personnel.

The delegation, led by state forum chief G. Ramakrishnudu, met the senior official in Amaravati and demanded inclusion of Schedule 9 and 10 employees in the power sector in the enhanced retirement age policy.

The forum recalled that when the state government increased the retirement age from 58 to 60 in 2017, this benefit was extended to both government employees and Schedule 9 and 10 personnel, including those in the electricity sector. They said power sector workers play an important role in the development of the state and urged the government to ensure equal treatment by extending the two-year service benefit to electrical workers.
