Former Illinois “supermayor” Tiffany Henyard is reportedly residing in Georgia while still serving as mayor of Dolton in 2025.
Henyard, who lost his bid for re-election as mayor of Dolton, has since launched a campaign to run as a Republican on the Fulton County Commission in South Fulton County’s 5th District.
Henyard joined last week a special meeting A report from the Fulton County Board of Registration and Elections regarding the qualifications required to run for a position ahead of the Commission District 5 Primary Election on May 19. State law states that a candidate must reside in the county for 12 months before running.

Henyard maintained during the meeting that he has been a legal resident of Fulton County since May 1, 2025. However, Board Commissioner Julie Adams pointed out that he served as mayor of Dolton until May 4, 2025, when he officially left office.
“Did you know that to have an office in Cook County, Illinois, you must be a resident?” said Adams. “So you were mayor until May 4, 2025, but you say you were a resident of Georgia on May 1, 2025.”
“Okay,” replied Henyard.
Henyard claimed during the meeting that he was essentially a “lame duck” after losing the February mayoral primary to Dolton Trustee Jason House, which led to his departure from the state.

“But you were the mayor, weren’t you?” asked Adams.
“My title was mayor, yes,” Henyard said.
Board member Douglass Selby also noted that Henyard appears to still be registered to vote in Illinois. The election board then voted 3-1 to approve Henyard’s residency requirement to run for the Fulton County Commission.
Henyard did not answer questions about whether he still received payments from Dolton during his time as mayor and Thornton Township trustee. Illinois state law states that mayors must live in the municipality they represent for their entire term.
Fox News Digital has reached out to Henyard for comment.
