Kimberley man charged over burglaries, sexual assault

Turning to crime news first, a man from the Kimberley region has been arrested and charged after allegedly going on a burglary spree, breaking into a woman’s home and sexually assaulting her.

Police charged the 25-year-old man from Halls Creek on Tuesday in connection with the incidents, which occurred in February 2024.

It was alleged that the defendants entered a residence on Kinivan Street and sexually assaulted the woman living there.

It is also alleged that the defendants stole various items from places on Kinivan Street and Roberta Street.

He was charged with three counts of burglary, aggravated burglary, burglary and sexual intercourse without consent.
