Amy Phan West, The 45-year-old is the second member of the Westminster City Council to run for a congressional seat.
Phan West’s parents fled Vietnam on a fishing boat in 1985 and were granted asylum in the United States after spending two years in a refugee camp, according to the campaign website.
She and her husband, Jeremy, own a rental car business, and Republican Phan West said in her candidate’s statement that she “stood up to defend President Trump and the America First movement.”
Mark Leonard, The 36-year-old U.S. Marine Corps veteran and an operations analyst is running because he thinks this district deserves a candidate who “takes on everyone.”
He said that he shopped at the same stores as the families he spoke to and faced the same problems.
