Kerala Election Results 2026 LIVE: Prior to vote counting, State poll turnout hits 79.7% after inclusion of service voters’ postal ballots

While intense security measures are being taken in approximately 15 places in the district on Monday, May 4, the police are planning to take intense security measures due to the announcement of the Assembly election results. Sensitive areas in the district include places like Chengamanad, Pezhakkappilly, Binanipuram, Edathala and Kunnathunadu.

All sensitive places are within the limits of Ernakulam Rural police. Sensitive areas were identified based on issues and conflicts reported during the election campaign. Although Kochi city police have not marked any locations as ‘sensitive’, additional surveillance will be in place at spots where supporters of political parties may gather to watch and celebrate the results. District Superintendent of Police (Kochi city) Kaliraj Mahesh Kumar said that as per Election Commission of India (ECI) rules, three-layer security will be implemented at Cochin University of Science and Technology Kalamassery, where votes of six constituencies will be counted.
