M&S opens ‘transformed’ 13,000ft store after gigantic revamp | UK | News
M&S welcomed its customers back to its 13,000 square meter store after an impressive transformation. The supermarket has promised that the 13,000 square foot store will offer customers the best of M&S Food. The shelves feature customers’ favorite M&S Food products. The store also features a brand new bakery and coffee counter, serving barista-made to-go drinks as well as a variety of pastries and breads, including the chain’s popular Collection Sourdough.
Marks and Spencer’s Martlesham Heath welcomed people back inside last week. It comes as the supermarket chain plans an ambitious expansion across the UK. While he is already opening new food stores in many places across the country, he also announced his wish list of 500 locations where he wants to open new stores. It is one of several supermarket chains operating in the UK, such as Aldi and Lidl, that are planning major refurbishment and expansion.
The newly converted Martlesham Heath store also features a brand new cheese barge in the center of the store, offering a range of specialty cheeses.
Customers will also find the M&S Exceptional Value range of over 100 everyday essentials, with a difference in price and M&S quality compared to key rivals.
Store Manager Jonathan Black, who has worked at M&S for 15 years, said of the opening: “It’s great to be serving our customers again. The atmosphere this morning was stunning and I’m so grateful to everyone who queued up to be one of the first to get in. A big thank you also to the team for all their hard work – this investment in Martlesham means we can now offer our customers the best of M&S Food in time for the bank holidays and the start of summer.”

Last July, M&S said it aimed to have 180 full lines and 420 food halls offering customers the best M&S products by the end of financial year 2028.
