Hello, welcome to one of the biggest days on the fashion calendar: the Met Gala. I will save you The Devil Wears Prada references (the less said about this sequel, the better).

This year it’s also a vanity project for lead sponsors and “honorary co-chairs” Jeff and Lauren Sanchez Bezos.
The theme of the 2026 edition is “Costume Art”, taken from the name of the relevant exhibition. Curator Andrew Bolton said about the exhibition, which will feature 400 garments and objects spanning 5000 years: “I wanted to focus on the centrality of the dressed body in the museum, combining artistic representations of the body with fashion as an embodied art form.” he said.
The dress code for the gala is “Fashion is Art”. Guests were encouraged to explore the concept of fashion as an embodied art form and consider how designers use the body as a canvas.
