Stalin accorded rousing reception in Kolathur

DMK chief and outgoing Chief Minister MK Stalin received a rousing reception when he visited Kolathur constituency on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, to thank voters. Advising party candidates to visit their constituencies to meet and thank voters, Mr. Stalin set an example by visiting Kolathur; here he lost to Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) candidate, former DMK leader and district secretary VS Babu.`
There was a spontaneous reaction from the public as large crowds gathered and Mr. Stalin’s vehicle gradually slowed down its movement. Many party workers became emotional and were seen shedding tears; Meanwhile, Mr. Stalin, standing on an open-top vehicle, was seen moving visibly and urging them not to cry. Former Hindu Religious and Charitable Minister PK Sekarbabu, who accompanied Mr Stalin, was also seen bursting into tears throughout the visit.
