Explosions near BSF headquarters in Jalandhar and Army Cantonment in Amritsar cause panic

A scooter parked near BSF Chowk PunjabPolice said a fire broke out in Jalandhar district on Tuesday evening, May 5, 2026, causing panic in the area, even as locals claimed to have heard an explosion-like sound from the vehicle.

The incident took place around 8 pm in front of the Punjab Border headquarters of the Border Security Force, located on the road connecting the main city to the Amritsar-Delhi highway.
