Woman charged with murder over man’s disappearance

A woman has been charged with murder in connection with the disappearance of Mackay man Wayne Pedro Morseu.

The 46-year-old man was charged with one count of murder and tampering with a corpse after Mr. Morseu was reported missing in November.

Suspicions were aroused after he was not contacted or seen by anyone for several weeks.

In March, police said they believed he died at his home address in September.

The 71-year-old man’s body allegedly remained in his unit for some time before being moved by someone involved in his death.

The woman was known to the man.

He will appear before Mackay Magistrates Court later on Friday.
