Amid cabinet expansion buzz, U.P. CM Yogi meets Governor in Lucknow

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met the state Governor Anandiben Patel at Jan Bhavan in Lucknow on Saturday evening, May 9, 2026, fueling speculations about a possible cabinet expansion.

According to the official statement, UP Chief Minister called Jan Bhavan Governor and presented him a copy of the book “Bhartiya Gyan Parampara Avadharna” written by Lalchand Ram.

CM Adityanath paid a courtesy visit to Governor Patel at Jan Bhavan, Lucknow today.

The meeting holds significance amid long-running speculations regarding cabinet expansion in the state. Although there has been no official confirmation so far, political circles are buzzing with the possibility of expansion on Sunday or Monday.

The last Cabinet expansion took place in March 2024, months before the Lok Sabha elections. Political analysts point out that the possible expansion ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections will focus on caste dynamics.
