A passenger on the MV Hondius cruise ship posted a video showing the quarantine room at the National Quarantine Unit at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha as authorities monitor a hantavirus outbreak linked to the cruise.

Jake Rosmarin, a passenger currently under quarantine, has been documenting his experience on social media and posting videos from both the ship and the medical facility. Fox News Digital has not independently verified the video.

Health officials said travelers were being carefully monitored for possible exposure to the Andes virus, a type of hantavirus, and emphasized that the risk to the public remained low.

In a recent clip, Rosmarin showed off her room, which has hand sanitizer, thermometers and other health supplies mounted on the wall. The room also contained a stationary bicycle.

“Things may be sent here during my stay, so I will definitely get some things to make me feel more at home and more comfortable,” Rosmarin said.

He said he plans to continue sharing updates in the coming days and that he’s feeling “fine” right now.

Rosmarin also said he did not test positive for hantavirus.

The footage shows conditions in the quarantine unit, where health officials monitored passengers for potential exposure following the outbreak.

Travelers may be allowed to leave the Nebraska facility before the end of the 42-day monitoring period if they meet certain conditions, including remaining symptom-free and able to safely isolate at home, health officials said.

Officials will also consider whether individuals can maintain contact with their local health departments and quickly access testing or medical care if symptoms develop.

Of the 18 people transferred to the USA after the epidemic, 16 are in Nebraska and two are in Atlanta. While most were in quarantine, one person was placed in a biocontainment unit following a previous test result.

Authorities emphasized that the risk to the public remains low, noting that the Andean variant of hantavirus does not spread easily and typically requires prolonged, close contact with a symptomatic person.
