Blaze erupts after explosion at firecracker factory in M.P.’s Dewas; casualties feared

A fire broke out following an explosion at an allegedly illegal fireworks factory in Madhya Pradesh’s Dewas district on Thursday, May 14, 2026, officials said.

It was stated that there are fears of many casualties in the incident that occurred in the unit in the Tonk Kalan region.

Authorities said that a joint team consisting of police and administrative personnel started aid and rescue efforts at the scene and the injured were transferred to hospitals.

Local people claimed that illegal fireworks were produced in the factory and a huge explosion occurred there.

Senior police and administrative officials reached the scene.

However, they did not immediately disclose the nature of the products produced at the factory.
