Sangitanjaly to Host Classical Music Concert

Ravindra Bharathi will see the sixth edition of the Classical Concert Series on May 23, where singer Raghab Chatterjee will perform in aid of the Autism Ashram. The program is organized by Sangitanjaly Foundation in association with the government’s language and culture department.
The concert will start at 19.00. Chatterjee is known for his work in classical, film, Sufi and fusion music. He will be accompanied by Prangopal Bandopadhyay on tabla and Kamalakhya Mukherjee on harmonium.
Abhijeeth Bhattacharjee and Pt. Prodyut Mukherjee of Sangitanjaly Foundation said that the organization wants to combine classical music with social responsibility through the annual series.
Chatterjee studied at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy under her mother Shila Chatterjee, Dr Amya Ranjan Banerjee and later Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty. He has sung in films like ‘Devdas’, ‘Parineeta’, ‘Raincoat’ and ‘Tere Naam’ and performed in India and abroad.
