Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi called on countries to unite against American tyranny at the BRICS Foreign Ministers Meeting and argued that such practices should be thrown into the “dustbin of history”.
Speaking at the meeting, Araghchi said many countries present were familiar with “little variations of the same disgusting oppression”. He called on BRICS countries to respond collectively and more assertively.
“For nearly everyone in this room, our resistance to U.S. tyranny is not an unconventional battle. Many of us face minor variations of the same abhorrent oppression. It is time for us to step up collectively and make clear that these practices belong in the dustbin of history,” he said. “Today, our nations are closer together than ever before, and we cannot ignore the common and dangerous challenge we all face. History has shown that declining empires can stop at nothing to stop their inevitable demise.” Iran’s Foreign Minister said a wounded animal would desperately claw and roar as it went downwards.
Araghchi’s comments come at a time when many key global partners are gathering in New Delhi to attend the BRICS Foreign Ministers Meeting.
