Early reviews for new ‘Star Wars’ movie are generally horrific, but does anyone even care at this point?

We’re one week away from a new “Star Wars” movie hitting theaters. This is true. For the first time in seven years, an actual Star Wars movie will be at your local AMC, if it’s still open and operating.

And the thing is… no one cares. How sad is this? I grew up in a time when the world revolved around the next Star Wars movie. People would start lining up in front of the theater days in advance. Taco Bell would spend six months running promotions and giving away special Qui-Gon Jinn cups. That’s all people can talk about weeks.

And here we are in 2026 — a full seven years removed from the last Star Wars movie — and no one cares. Even worse, the people who do it To do Those interested in the release of “The Mandalorian & Grogu” aren’t painting a good picture ahead of its worldwide release next week.

Let’s just say the first reviews are in and it looks like Star Wars fans might want to skip this one.

Do Star Wars fans even care at this point?

Ahh. This is so cruel. To be fair, there were some positive reviews and I’ll get to them in a moment. But the negatives far outweigh the positives, so we’ll start with those.

Look, there’s a lot of pressure on this movie, and most of it probably isn’t fair. Disney mostly completely screwed up Star Wars. The sequel trilogy was a complete disaster. Most of the miniseries, except for a few, bombed.

Streaming figures released by Nielsen last week showed that fans were still watching the series, but only the originals and prequels. Disney hit a home run with “Andor,” but that’s about it.

So yeah, there’s a lot going on in this movie about the goofy baby Yoda creature. If successful, perhaps Disney could gain real momentum for the first time since taking over the franchise. If it bombs, they will further alienate the fan base.

Unfortunately, it looks and feels bombastic. I repeat, this movie has no taste. Even with the sequels, no matter how bad they were, there was still something there. fruit juice.

Do fans really care about “The Mandalorian and Grogu”? I just don’t think they are. This is the first Star Wars movie in SEVEN years and no one is talking about it. This is a big problem for Disney. Managers must be sweating right now. God knows I will be.

Now as I said, some Positive reviews from first screenings. Fair is fair:

To see? It’s not that bad! Who knows? Maybe fans will disagree with critics when they see this. Frankly this happens all the time. Movie snobs are the worst.

But here’s the thing… I’m not even sure it would matter, because I’m not even sure if the “fans” would agree with it.

And that’s a shame.
