SCSC Launches Suraksha Kavach For College Women’s Safety And Well-Being

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Security Council Society (SCSC) has launched ‘Suraksha Kavach’, a safety and welfare handbook aimed at strengthening safety, mental health, anti-drug awareness and responsible campus culture for women college students through student-led clubs in educational institutions.
Cyberabad police commissioner Dr M. Ramesh emphasized the importance of emotional well-being, open communication and disciplined lifestyles in combating stress, loneliness and substance abuse among students. He reiterated the police force’s determination to crack down on drug networks and urged students to communicate freely with mentors, parents, teachers and authorities when they encounter difficulties.
Biochemistry lecturer Varalaxmi suggested in the interaction session that awareness programs alone may not be sufficient and emphasized the need for discussion forums. The superintendent welcomed the idea and encouraged students to speak openly about their concerns.
Responding to a question asked by a NALSAR University student about drug use, commissioner Dr. Ramesh warned that drugs were destroying individuals, families and society, adding that the cooperation of students and communities was crucial in combating this menace.
Actor-director Rahul Ravindran spoke to the students about the risks of addiction, peer pressure and unhealthy coping mechanisms, and encouraged them to pursue meaningful goals and positive lifestyles. Officials from SCSC and educational institutions emphasized the need for anti-harassment measures, mental health support systems, and safety mechanisms on campuses.
DCP Women and Child Safety Wing K. Srujana emphasized on strict implementation of anti-drug committee guidelines and adherence to POSH and POCSO norms in universities.
