Here it is: The best and the worst of the NFL’s annual tradition of the schedule release videos

NFL schedule release day seems like a national holiday for football fans. They can’t wait to see how creative or how incompetent their team and others in the league are. This year overall did not disappoint. I say this because some teams have been disappointing. This team likes to disappoint with their play on the field, but I won’t reveal that yet.
Without further ado, here are the winners and losers of NFL schedule release day.

winners
Los Angeles Rams
At first I thought this would be lame. ASMR didn’t impress me from the beginning considering I put little effort into the food presentation, but they did it.
49ERS GM JOHN LYNCH IS SUBJECTIVE TO RAMS’ DECISION TO PREPARE NUMBER QB TY SIMPSON. 13 GENERAL ELECTION
From mocking the Washington Commanders changing their name from the Redskins to conspiring that the San Francisco 49ers power plant near their practice facility caused player injuries through electromagnetic field emissions to trolling Philadelphia’s Democratic mayor by cutting out the spelling of Eagles, it was a chef’s kiss. Pun intended.
Oh, and their mascot has a humorous “Napoleon Dynamite” reference at the very end. Another nice touch.
Atlanta Falcons
Dirty Birds has created a collection of “This is SportsCenter” style ads to share the season’s lineup. New President of Football Operations and Falcons legend Matt Ryan announces his infamous “GET F****** SET!” He recreated his song. call, but this time in an office environment. The release featured several Falcons starters, including Bijan Robinson and Drake London. They made fun of how to pronounce Bijan, and London met a co-worker named Kendrick, alluding to the rap controversy between Kendrick and Drake. Prominent Atlanta-based comedy trio St. André Golf members Aaron Chewning, Hannah Rae Aslesen and Jonathan Pawlowsk also appeared.
Getting all your star players on board and your new coach playing a role is no easy task. Well done Atlanta.
Las Vegas Raiders
Speaking of using star actors, let’s say star actor (no offense Kirk). Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins, signed in the offseason after being released from Atlanta, teamed up with former Indiana Hoosier and national champion Fernando Mendoza, the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft, to parody John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell’s comedy Step Brothers.
The video begins with a recreation of the classic nicknames variation scene from the movie, but instead of “Nighthawk” and “Dragon”, Mendoza tells Cousins to call him “The Mendolorian”, a reference to the Star Wars show The Mandalorian, and Cousins tells Mendoza to call him “Kirko Chains”. The hysterically bad acting will leave you feeling like Napolean Dynamite at times, and the tucked-in shirts are a funny touch.
The cousins tucked into Yoda’s shirt was hilarious, and the duo measuring the size of his hands was a humorous PG version of the movie’s antics.
Fans now hope that the team’s play on the field is as good as in this video. If it’s anything to go by, the season will be a success.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Rams awarded the Chargers a “Certificate of Achievement” for “Best Programmatic Broadcast Video” and I couldn’t agree more. The kid in me loved the Halo-themed version, filled with Easter eggs trolling opponents.
One of the characters throws a sticky bomb at a Broncos-themed character, referencing Bo Nix’s injury from last season. They’re making fun of Texans QB CJ Stroud giving advice to Bears QB Caleb Williams following their prime-time matchup in 2024. Diana Russini and Mike Vrabel’s relationship is commemorated with a “message” from the New York Post, “1 Hour Until Next Photo Dump.” They gave the Chiefs character “zebra armor” so he looked like a referee. The Rams were mentioned with the Colorado Avalanche logo mocking their GM wearing an Avalanche jersey in the NFL Draft room.
It’s so well presented, with countless references to viral moments and gaffes. There’s a reason the video has been viewed more than 16 million times in the 22 hours since it was posted.
A+ Chargers. A+.

HOW COULD THE MIKE VRABEL-DIANNA RUSsini SCANDAL COULD RUIN THE PATRIOTS’ ON-FIELD SEASON?
Tennessee Titans
The Titans are gone, will the man on the street get close again, and it paid off in a big way.
Tennessee’s social media team scoured Broadway and the surrounding area of downtown Nashville to find likenesses of key figures from their 2026 rivals.
From Will Compton to Philadelphia Eagles safety chief Dominico “Big Dom” DiSandro to a random white guy in a Myles Garrett jersey who looks nothing like Garrett, this was yet another cheesy, extremely low-budget video that’s easily in the top 3 of my best show releases.
losers
Arizona Cardinals
I’ll keep this short. The Arizona Cardinals held a Zoom call that resembled an AI version of all their opponents’ mascots, moderated by an AI Muppet-like figure presented as the “Director of Mascot Matchups.”
This was so funny. The audio cuts out in a way that cannot be properly explained and sounds like the voiceover you would hear after recording a voice memo on your phone.
This might be the worst broadcast program I’ve ever seen. Incredibly forgettable and hard to get over.
New York Jets
One could argue that this video isn’t as bad as Aaron Rodgers rupturing his Achilles tendon in the first quarter of his Jets debut, but it’s close.
For this year’s edition, the team headed off to arts and crafts and I went to bed. This would be a fun video to show up on your scroll of doom late at night, showing how paint colors can be mixed and matched to present your opponent’s color, but two and a half minutes of it? Come on. Give your fans something to be excited about.

THE JETS MADE NFL HISTORY WITH THEIR UNIQUE BENEFITS AND RECORD-BREAKING FAILURES
Not a single word was spoken in this video, but “BORING!” he shouted. To me.

It’s only fitting that two of the league’s worst teams offer broadcast coverage like this.
Overall, the league’s social media teams are doing a solid job. It’s fun to spend a few hours checking each team’s page to look for subtle and not-so-subtle digs at each other and see what each team is cooking up. I’m sure it made me excited for this season, as it did for you.
