Amjad Khan’s son Shadaab auditioned for Dhurandhar, got rejected for this reason

In a recent conversation with journalist Vickey Lalwani, Shadaab praised the film and while acknowledging its huge success, also said that Sholay’s legacy is unmatched.
“Dhurandhar It is undoubtedly a great movie. This is a huge hit. “People talk a lot about his success and the numbers he does,” he said.
Shadaab also appreciated the filmmakers and actors for their work. “I’ve watched the movie and I really think the producers and actors deserve credit for what they’ve achieved,” he added.
During the interview, Shadaab revealed that she had auditioned for an important role in the series. Dhurandhar franchise after casting director Mukesh Chhabra’s agency approached him.
“Yes, I auditioned by chance. Dhurandhar. “Mukesh Chhabra’s casting agency called me,” he said.
According to Shadaab, the role was an important one, spanning both Part One and Part Two of the series. He said he was pleased with how the audition went. “It was actually for a very solid role in both Part One and Part Two. The audition itself went very well. I was pretty happy with the outcome,” he shared.
However, although he thought positively about the audition, he was not selected for the role. When asked which character he auditioned for, Shadaab refused to reveal any details and said it would be unfair to the actors who were eventually cast.
“No, no… that wouldn’t be fair,” he said.
He also added that since the film is already a huge success, it would be unprofessional to discuss the role publicly now.
“The film is now a huge success and everyone involved with it has done a great job. I don’t think it would be professional for me to suddenly say, ‘By the way, I also auditioned for this role’. Let the actors who have been selected enjoy their success. Let the producers celebrate the film,” he said.
Shadaab also expressed his happiness that the performances of players like Rakesh Bedi were appreciated.
Interestingly, he admitted that he was not upset about this rejection as he understood the reason behind the casting decision.
“I saw bits and pieces of the character out of curiosity after the movie was released, just to see who ended up playing the role,” he said.
According to Shadaab, the role required a different physical appearance and screen presence than what she could offer.
“And honestly, physicality, looks, body type; nothing matched me. So I realized the rejection was based on availability,” she explained.
Saying that this was a professional decision, Shadaab said that he fully accepted the result.
“This is a rejection I can totally accept, because sometimes a role just requires a different face or screen presence. It happens,” he concluded, adding that every actor naturally hopes the opportunities eventually work out in their favor.
