Chaos In the IPL Points Table After LSG’S Win Over CSK

Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) victory over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) completely blew up the play-off race and added another twist to the already unpredictable Indian Premier League (IPL) season. With the points table narrowing and many teams still in contention, every remaining game is now hugely important for the standings. LSG’s victory not only opened the door to other teams but also reduced CSK’s chances of qualifying this season.

Play-off possibility

• RCB: With a 99.5% chance of qualifying, this makes them the biggest candidate to place in the top 2 with 83.4%

GT: With a 98.5% play-off chance, there is now a very high chance of being one of the top 2 with around 80.1%

SRH: Their chances of qualifying are now high at 81.8% and their chances of being in the top 2 are 22.6%

• Opposite: The team that benefited the most after CSK’s defeat was Rajasthan Royals and their play-off chances increased to 45.8%, mathematically they can enter the top 2 with 5.4%.

• PBKS: LSG have high hopes for qualification after their win, they now have a play-off chance of up to 42.6% and slightly more hopes than RR of getting into the top 2 with a 6.3% chance and 17 points.

• CSK: Chennai’s super kings lost their chance of qualifying for the play-offs by 18 points after their defeat against LSG. However, they are still in the game with a 25.4% play-off probability and a 1.7% top 2 chance with higher qualification chances this season.

• KKR: They still have 15 points and a 6.1% chance of qualifying for the play-offs. They have no chance of getting into the top 2.

• DC: They are still mathematically alive in the play-off race and their odds are 0.3%, even after winning their games they can still probably get 14 points and rely on other teams for qualification.

The IPL 2026 season has reached its final phase with 8 teams still in contention, making every match exciting and important for every team to win. RCB and GT are likely to qualify after one match, leaving only two places in the top 4.
