Co. Two people died and four people were injured in an accident in Donegal. The injured are continuing their treatment in hospital.
The two-vehicle collision occurred in Birchhill, Co., on Saturday afternoon. It happened on the N15 motorway in Donegal. Gardaí and emergency services reportedly attended the scene after being alerted to the incident shortly after 2pm. Irish Mirror.
It was announced that two people in the vehicle, a man in his 20s and a man in his 30s, died at the scene.
Their bodies were taken to Letterkenny University Hospital where post-mortem examinations will be carried out in due course. The coroner was informed.
Two other occupants of the same vehicle – a woman in her 20s and a man in his 20s – were taken to Letterkenny University for treatment of injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
Two people in the other vehicle, a man and a woman in their 40s, were treated at Letterkenny University Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The road was closed while Garda Forensic Collision Investigators were expected to carry out a technical examination at the scene.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.
Road users who have camera footage (including dashcam) and were traveling in the area between 1.30pm and 2.30pm are asked to provide this footage to the Gardaí investigation.
