Carly Pearce says husband made it ‘very clear’ she made a big mistake

Carly Pearce opens up about the moment she realizes her marriage is over, right after she says “I do.”
In a new interview on “The One Who Believes in MeAppearing on the podcast, the 36-year-old country singer shared that she knew getting married on her wedding night was the wrong choice, saying, “It made it very clear that I made a huge mistake.”
“There’s a bit of Jackal and Hyde that I didn’t see until it was too late,” he explained. “And that’s something I’m grateful for in my very short marriage, because it taught me so much about myself. It also gave me the album ’29’.”
Going further, Pearce said marriage and divorce “taught me how strong I was” because she realized very quickly that “this wasn’t what I deserved” and did something about it.

“I ruined my life to get out of this,” he said. “I didn’t stay because society told you ‘you should stay.’ I didn’t stay because my faith told you divorce was bad. I didn’t stay because ‘oh, it’s public. I have to do this.’ I was done.”
The “Dear Miss Loretta” singer was married to country singer Michael Ray from October 2019 to June 2020.
This relationship and divorce inspired her third album, “29,” which featured songs like “What He Didn’t Do” and “Next Girl.”
Pearce stated that although he did not consider himself a “good communicator”, he could express himself better by writing songs and said, “I need to write to process this.” This led him to write “six really intense songs” about the divorce, which he thought would be too much for the album.
“I thought this was just my story, but I think what I learned is that it’s a lot of different people’s stories,” she said.

They won the Grammy Award for best country duo/group performance for the song “Never Wanted to be That Girl” from the album, which also featured Ashley McBryde.

Pearce confirmed she was in a relationship with entrepreneur Jordan Karcher in 2025 with a candid selfie on Instagram.
“stupid blondePearce talked about her new relationship on her podcast in August 2025, saying she was “happier than ever” and revealing that she met him on the dating app Raya.
“I didn’t think you could meet a real person on Raya,” he said. “I felt like how can I meet someone who is in the same vein as me? He’s not into any fun, which is the best thing ever. I’m really happy.”

Pearce recently called on her followers to get checked by doctors when her health issues arise after she experienced a medical nightmare when her pericarditis was initially misdiagnosed.
She recalled feeling shunned by doctors and encouraged her followers to be persistent when it comes to their health.

“‘Oh, you have anxiety. Oh, you have a busy schedule,'” Pearce recalled being told. “And it’s like, ‘No, something’s not right.’ And so in 2024 I made it public just because it got me excited for a minute. But I’m doing really well. And I don’t have any great talents. “But I still try to be honest with people and use my platform to say, ‘Please go get it checked, because something was wrong.'”
