Two Women Murdered Over Loan Dispute

The murder of two burqa-clad women on state land came to light on Saturday when local people informed the police. Moinabad teams arrived at the scene and determined that the victims were locals of Tandur in Vikarabad district. They were later identified as Abida Begun, an anganwadi worker of Kasimpur in Basheerabad, and Mahbub Begum of Tandur’s Indiramma Colony.

According to the police, the families of the two women had filed a missing complaint a few days ago. By tracking mobile signals and technical evidence, investigators found that the women were traveling towards Moinabad. They were later found dead on government land near a farmhouse by locals.

Police said the victims were dealing in interest-bearing businesses in Tandur. Unable to pay huge amounts, some debtors allegedly hatched a plan to lure the women to Moinabad on the pretext of returning the money. The women were taken to an isolated spot and killed after a heated argument.

Tips teams and fingerprint experts collected evidence at the scene. The bodies were taken to Çevik State Hospital for autopsy. Police confirmed that the murders were linked to a financial dispute and deployed special teams to arrest the accused. CCTV footage from Tandur to Moinabad is being examined.

Sajjanar warns fans about fake IPL apps

City police commissioner VC Sajjanar on Saturday warned cricket fans against using fake apps ahead of scheduled IPL matches. Sajjanar warned for the match planned to be held on May 22, “Be careful; fake applications are circulating! Cyber criminals are taking advantage of this great craze.”

Taking advantage of demand for tickets, scammers have launched fake apps and websites. “Currently, a lot of advertisements regarding IPL ticket booking are appearing on social media,” he said. Fraudsters had created fake apps with similar colors and logos to the official ticket sales partner, promising lower priced tickets. “If you click on these fake links and book tickets, you will definitely lose your money,” Sajjanar warned.

He added that if the tickets do not arrive after payment, there is a risk of bank information being stolen. “Do not be fooled by unofficial links appearing on social media in the excitement of watching the match,” he said.

Police kept an eye on such fake apps and websites. Posting the same warning on his Twitter account, the commissioner added, “If anyone knows about these, they should immediately file a complaint at the nearest police station. We request cricket lovers to be careful and not let their hard-earned money go to fraudsters.”
