NEET paper leak row: Karnataka Youth Congress to hold ‘Raj Bhavan Chalo’ protest
According to Congress Youth Wing President HS Manjunath, the protest march will start from Freedom Park at 11 am and move towards Raj Bhavan.
Speaking on Sunday, Manjunath alleged that the Center did not take responsibility in the alleged paper leak case and said the agitation was organized in support of students affected by the controversy.

“Regarding the failures of the central government, we have organized a youth movement on Thursday 21st this month at 11 am. It will start at Freedom Park followed by ‘Raj Bhavan Chalo’ (march to Raj Bhavan). The main reason for this is the leak of NEET exam papers in which the BJP and its followers were involved. Condemning this, the Youth Congress supports 24 lakh students. The central government does not take responsibility. They do not. They even promise to punish the culprits, the real account “They are just making false claims about CBI involvement without providing accountability,” he said.
He also said students experience emotional and financial stress due to exam-related controversies.
“Students who studied day and night did not get fair results and are now being told to retake the exam. Many students are struggling financially and some even take loans for their studies. Manmohan Singh’s vision was that students in villages and cities like Delhi should have the same opportunities and the same examination paper. This uniform system was aimed at producing talented doctors for the country and the world,” he said. Manjunath also demanded that re-exams should not be held in states where there were no allegations of paper leak. reported.
“We also demand that re-exams should not be held in states like us where there has been no paper leak, affecting approximately 1,70,000 students, and the results should be declared this way. We strongly request that re-exams should not be held in states that are not affected by the leak.”
On participation in the protest, Manjunath said that many senior Congress leaders and office officials will join the march.
“Our National President Uday Bhanu Chib will be present. Also, AICC General Secretary and in-charge of Karnataka Randeep Singh Surjewala will participate along with Deputy Chief Minister (DCM), our office bearers, in-charge Nigam Bhandari and various other ministers. Key leaders like Krishna Byre Gowda, Dinesh Gundu Rao, Rizwan Arshad and Basanagouda Badarli will also participate. A large number of Students, women and youth are expected to participate in this protest,” he said.

The protest comes amid increasing controversy over the NEET-UG 2026 exam following allegations of paper leak and subsequent cancellation of the exam.
The re-exam is planned to be held on June 21. As a corrective measure, the Union Education Minister announced that NEET-UG will be conducted in computer-based testing (CBT) mode from next year.
