Man Held In Hyderabad For Committing House Burglaries

Hyderabad: Hyderabad police on Monday arrested a person for a series of house burglaries.

Those arrested have been identified as Amar Sonkambale (20), a waiter at function halls and a resident of Kishanbagh and a native of Lathur in Maharashtra. About 206 grams and cash of Rs.2.14 lakh worth about Rs.30 lakh were seized from the possession of the accused.

Sonkambale was born and brought up in Hyderabad’s Kishan Bagh and his parents were from Maharashtra. When he was 20, he was addicted to a luxurious life such as drinking alcohol, smoking and going to bars, but his earnings were not enough to cover his expenses.

He then planned to steal to cover his expenses. He has been involved in three house burglaries and one POCSO case so far. Golconda Deputy Commissioner of Police G Chandramohan said that a case of theft was reported at a house in Begum Bazaar, Hindinagar, on May 6. Following the complaint of the homeowner M. Krishna, the police launched an investigation into the incident.

During the investigation, police reviewed CCTV footage which helped capture the accused.
