British tourist, 38, plunges to his death from mountain viewpoint in Spanish city

A British tourist died after falling from a mountain vantage point in a Spanish city.
It was announced that the 38-year-old person, whose name was not disclosed, died at around 11:00 on Saturday morning after jumping from the slopes of the 120-meter Urgull Mountain in the city of San Sebastian in the Basque region.
A passerby noticed the body and immediately raised the alarm by calling 112.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene but tragically were unable to save him and his body was sent to the Basque Forensic Institute for autopsy.
Police are currently investigating the Englishman’s death and, in their first official comment on the matter, confirmed they are not treating the incident as suspicious at this stage.
The ongoing investigation is being carried out by the Basque Country’s autonomous police force, Ertzaintza, which is affiliated with the local court.
A spokesman for the force, who today said it would not confirm the man’s nationality as part of normal protocol, said: ‘At around 11am on Saturday, May 16, Ertzaintza found the body of a 38-year-old man of European descent below the Baluarte Lookout on Mount Urgull in the city of San Sebastian.
‘Ertzaintza launched an investigation to clarify the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body.
