Threat ‘neutralized’ after active shooter reported at Islamic Center of San Diego

The San Diego Police Department said the threat had been “neutralized” after reports of an active shooter at the Islamic Center of San Diego.

The number of potential victims is unclear. Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego said it was accepting an unknown number of patients.
The Islamic Center of San Diego says it is the largest mosque in San Diego County.

In New York City, the NYPD said there was “no known connection to NYC or specific threat to houses of worship in NYC,” but the department said it was increasing officers to mosques “out of an abundance of caution.”
