No Plan to Use Temple Gold for Monetisation, Says Govt

New Delhi: The government on Tuesday said it is not planning to introduce a monetization scheme for gold held by temple trusts or any religious institutions across the country, refuting all rumors and speculations. In a statement, the finance ministry said such rumors are completely false, misleading and have no basis.

It has also been declared that claims suggesting that gold plates on temple towers, gates or other temple structures would be considered as ‘Strategic Gold Reserves of India’ are false, misleading and completely unfounded.

The Ministry called on citizens not to believe or spread such rumors.

It was stated that the dissemination of unverified information would create unnecessary confusion and could mislead the public.

The government urges all citizens to trust only official communications issued through authorized channels.

It was also stated that any information regarding policy decisions or government plans will be shared through official press releases, government websites and verified public communication platforms.
