Punjabi Singer Inder Kaur found dead in Ludhiana canal days after alleged kidnapping. All you need to know

According to the information obtained, Inder Kaur left her home to buy food with her Ford Figo car on the evening of May 13. When he did not return and his phone was found switched off, his family started looking for him and later contacted the police.
His body was recovered from the Neelon Canal near Kuba village on Tuesday morning. Investigators also found his car near the canal in Rampur village, about a kilometer from where the body was found. Police said blood stains were found inside the vehicle, raising suspicions that the singer may have been killed in the car before her body was thrown into the canal.
Family members accused a Canada-based man, identified as Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha of Moga, of organizing the crime. They alleged that he pressured Inder Kaur to marry him even though he was already married and had children. According to the family’s statement, the singer rejected this offer and was then allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint.
Inder Kaur’s brother told the police that the accused along with his associates had allegedly kidnapped her from GTB Nagar area of Mundian Kalan.
Sub-Inspector Dalvir Singh, SHO of Jamalpur police station, said preliminary investigations revealed that Inder Kaur and Sukhwinder Singh were in a relationship earlier but later broke up. Police suspect that the alleged kidnapping was linked to his refusal to marry her.
Investigators also found that Sukhwinder Singh entered India via Nepal on April 29 and returned to Canada via the same route on May 13, the day the singer disappeared. An FIR has been registered against Sukhwinder Singh, his father Pritam Singh and his partner Karamjeet Singh in Moga’s Bhaloor village. Police arrested Pritam Singh and Karamjeet Singh; Meanwhile, efforts to gather more evidence in the case and follow additional connections are ongoing.
Inder Kaur had built up a sizeable online following with over 124,000 followers on Instagram. The news of his death sparked an outpouring of grief online, with fans expressing shock and sadness at the tragic event.
Officials said the investigation is ongoing and all angles, including allegations of kidnapping and forced marriage pressure, are being thoroughly examined.
