Jennifer Lowery, former U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Texas, is charged with felony stop and render aid following the May 14 incident.
The driver of a Nissan Altima, identified in court documents as Gabriel Fonseca, told police that his vehicle was struck by a car in the median while driving east on Memorial Drive, Fox Houston reported.
Fonseca moved his vehicle to safety, but the other driver drove away. He also complained of a “ringing” in his ears, according to court documents.

Fonseca also told police that repairing or replacing his car would cost about $35,000 and that he wanted to pursue charges, according to court documents.
“He didn’t even check if I was dead,” Fonseca said. “Hitting someone and running away without worrying is selfish and cowardly.”
A witness walking his dog at the scene told officers he saw a woman driving a heavily damaged vehicle and watched her park the car a few blocks away. He said he saw a “white, blonde female” in her 30s or 40s driving the sedan involved in the crash.
He said the vehicle had “serious damage to the front end” and was “leaking fluid.” He also told me where the car was parked.

When police went to where the car was parked, they found a vehicle in the driveway of a home with “significant” front end damage and a missing bumper. It was claimed that the plate was registered in the name of Lowery.

Authorities said he told officers he would provide any necessary information but would not allow Lowery to testify.
