Essendon’s football department believes that despite the club’s ongoing struggles they can still turn their youth roster into a winning side.

Essendon general manager of football Daniel McPherson said he still believes in the strategy the club is working on, despite reports that the club’s board is closely monitoring developments and their 1-9 record.

“It’s none of our business, we have nothing to do with these things and it’s beyond us,” McPherson told Kayo Sports.

“Right now we are operating as usual and what happens outside of that is out of our control.
