New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani posts selfie at Knicks game, gets viciously mocked online

Championship or failure for the Knicks? | Herd
The New York Knicks are seeking their first NBA title since 1973 as they prepare to face the Atlanta Hawks. Danny Parkins asks if it’s a championship or a failure for New York heading into this postseason.
So far, the conference finals of the NBA Playoffs have been must-see television, and I say that as someone who’s not a huge fan of the NBA.
The Spurs and Thunder locked horns in Oklahoma City, splitting the first two games of the series; The Knicks, on the other hand, showed everyone the legendary powers of Madison Square Garden, knocked out Cleveland’s heart in overtime in the first game and turned a close game into a comfortable victory in the first half, taking a 2-0 lead in the series.

And when I say Madison Square Garden is rocking, I mean it’s absolutely thrilling.
It was so loud at some points it was as if everyone in Manhattan had bought tickets to see the Knicks try to win the conference finals series for the first time since 1999.
Even Zohran Mamdani, the mayor of New York with chest problems, attended the second game and documented it with a beautiful selfie on social media.
First of all, I have to congratulate Mamdani for keeping up the socialist, “man of the people” schtick by sitting in the “cheap seats” at MSG instead of in a box or courtside on Celebrity Row.
To be fair, these seats are probably still priced closer to $1,000, but it’s all about optics and no one wants to see the socialist mayor rubbing elbows with the bourgeoisie.
KNICKS GAVE MAMDANI TO STOP AND WITHDRAW ABOUT THE USE OF THE LOGO, SAID HE WANTED TO ‘CLARIFY’, BUT THEY DID NOT RECOMMEND HIM
If there’s one thing you can say about Zohran, it’s that he understands his voter base.

Speaking of those voters, after taking a look at the comments section of this image, I realized that Mamdani isn’t that popular with Knicks fans or New Yorkers in general.
Look at some of the things they say about him and tell me if this sounds like a man loved by the Five Buroughs.

Luckily, Mamdani didn’t have the same impact on Knicks fans as he did on the Mets; as his mere presence was thought to have contributed to the 12-game losing streak.
As long as Mamdani doesn’t hold on to Karl Anthony-Towns, I think the Knicks can keep this series in the bag.

Now that the Knicks are on the road, Mamadani can take to the comments section to address what New Yorkers are complaining about.
It’s a win-win!
